Stay With Us
Cragg House Farm offers two types of dog-friendly accomodation for visitors to this beautiful corner of the Lake District. We have a two-person holiday cottage and an eight-person camping barn and less than 100m from the door, we have a lovely exclusive, stone walled dog paddock for our four legged guests to have some off lead fun. We are the perfect base for an adventure holiday with access to numerous mountain hikes from the doorstep; wonderful waterfalls; technical mountain bike routes; dreamy gravel tracks; and peaceful lake shores for some wild swimming or paddleboarding…
Cragg House Farm was acquired by the National Trust in 1987. It is situated on the edge of Buttermere Village, and Buttermere Common, on which it has grazing rights. The northfacing farmhouse and attached stone barn date from the 17th and 18th century with subsequent internal and external alterations since then - the property is Grade II listed. The farmland extends to circa 49 hectares; made up of approximately 6.5 hectares of mowable pasture, 20 hectares of permanent pasture, and the remainder intake/rough grazing/woodland.
